Recently I’ve been pondering hot versus cold. Soccer refs and American gun control. Love. Sisters. How lucky I am to have the friends that I have.
And moments of sheer bliss. There was one
this weekend: a hard hike, followed by a cold stream, good friends and a bit of generosity, that will make our lives a lot easier.
My first ever ‘on my way to …‘ post was of my walk to work and I posted it around this time last year. Since moving three months ago, my route has changed a little bit and last week, on a particularly clear day, I thought I’d take a few photos to illustrate the change.
We’re having a big (for Vancouver) snow day! That still means going to work, but it’s very pretty out and reminds me of the motherland. (Please excuse the iPhone photos.)
This year we spent a pretty cozy New Years Eve at our friend Patrick’s cabin. We counted down to the new year standing in the middle of a frozen slough with
champagne sparkling wine at the ready. We ate great food, made ice cream, played Crokinole, skated and curled. (Well, I didn’t curl due to an unfortunate skating spill.) It was a wonderful time and bodes well for my desire to have a calmer year.
Ya, lame title, so shoot me. Autumn is still my second true love these days, so I took a few photos to remember it by when it starts to pour rain, which it probably will, any day now. I think this fall is trying to make up for our lackluster summer. Lately, it’s been bright and crisp … perfect for lunchtime walks and impressive colours.
